The 2.74 Pound Bike

Comments

Serious mountain bikers know that the weight of the ride can make a big difference when they’re cutting across some of the rougher trails. There’s always a race, then, for bike manufacturers to come up with increasingly lightweight designs.

Delta 7 is the new contender to beat: it’s Arantix Lightweight Hardtail Mountain Bike has a frame that weighs in at a staggeringly low 2.74 pounds. For comparison: that’s actually lighter than the weight of a 13-inch MacBook Air.

There’s no price listed for these “made in the USA” frames on Delta 7’s website, but production will be limited to just 200 Arantix frames worldwide. In other words: this one won’t come cheap.
