How much fun are you having right now? Not as much fun as Damien Briguet and Lucia Chu, the two canyoneering Adrenalists profiled in “Down The Line.”

Briguet and Chu are canyoneering adventurers. They plunge down slick backcountry slot canyons and waterfalls, discovering first descents – precipitous drops that have never before been navigated by rope, caribiner, guts and joy. The action is similar to waterfall rappelling down dangerous rapids. In “Down The Line,” a 22-minute film by first time director Francois-Xavier De Ruydts, the pair pioneers lines down Monmouth Creek in Squamish, BC.

The canyoneering video above is just the trailer for a short that’s been recognized across the adventure film fest circuit as one of the best depictions of the upstart sport ever filmed. “Down the Line” was a finalist at the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival and 5Point Film Festival, and won “Best of the Fest” at the Fernie Mountain Film Festival.

Stay tuned and follow De Ruydts to find out when and where you’ll be able to catch the full film. And keep an eye on canyoneering. We think this new sport has what it takes to make a big splash.
