“Professor Splash” Breaks Records

It’s hard to find danger in a kiddy pool… unless you use it to save your life. That’s just how Darren Taylor AKA ‘Professor Splash’ uses the inflatable toy.

Taylor is the world’s premiere shallow water high diver. He’s been swan diving (flopping) into tiny pools of water for over 25 years, tempting death and breaking records across the globe. In March, he dove into the record books for the 13th time when he smacked into just 12 inches of water from a 36-foot platform in Trondheim, Norway.

To brace his impact, the pool was filled with near-freezing water. Taylor explains to the Daily Mail: “That way the water is dense without being freezing and helps to slow my descent when I hit the water.”

Nobody’s calling him a cheater.
