Most locals will tell you Aspen Highlands offers the best skiing of all the mountains in Aspen. They’ll also say “hiking the bowl” is a must-do activity for any skier who wants a taste of the real terrain.

Unfortunately, they won’t tell you how dangerous it can be.

Here a young skier finds out firsthand. Thankfully for us, he was wearing a GoPro when he plummeted 200 feet off the backside of the bowl. Even more thankfully, he walked away from the fall with only minor injuries.
