Calm-Inducing BASE Jump

Last Walk Around Mirror Lake – Boom Bip (Boards of Canada Remix) from FroschYankee on Vimeo.

The granite cliffs surrounding Mirror Lake in Eikesdalen, Norway offer some of the best BASE jumping terrain on earth. By best, we mean most thrilling, and maybe even safest.

There are no rocky outcroppings jutting into the fly zone at Eikesdalen. Jumpers need only fall off the cliff to clear the sheer, almost inverted cliff face. And then it’s a slow drop — at least viewed through the footage here — thousands of feet to the shores of the crystal clear lake.

Sometimes a rush can cause calm. Sometimes.
