Bungee jumping is a different kind of extreme sport, with a different kind of challenge. At first, it seems easy, even childlike: you climb to the top of a huge platform; you tie yourself to a rope; and you jump, letting gravity (and hopefully the rope) do the rest. That. however, isn’t easy. The difficulty lies in accepting the fear of jumping, and putting your faith in the piece of cord attached to your feet; to be able to do that is to accomplish a mental feat that is, in many ways, even more impressive than what happens in skateboarding or skydiving or skiing, in which you have far more control of your body. Here, we saw all of the mental effort that goes into such a thing as a man prepares to jump from one of the highest platforms in Tibet.
