Are there more heroes today than ever before or are we just catching them more often on video? The daring rescue of 21-year-old Utah State student Brandon Wright is one of the feel-good videos of 2011. At first, bystanders thought Wright was dead. No way he survived the crash that sent him skidding helmetless under a 4,000 pound BMW and the resulting gas-fueled inferno and explosion. Even so, the construction workers, students and strangers put themselves in danger and dragged Wright out alive. “They saved my life,” he told the Associated Press by telephone from his hospital bed. Next time, brave strangers may save yours.
