On September 22 and 23, the world’s top freestyle snowboarders, skateboarders, skiers, FMXers and mountain bikers will flock to Zurich, Switzerland for Europe’s biggest freestyle sports event, Freestyle.ch. Described as the “ultimate mega-spectacle” and “the year’s coolest party,” Freestyle.ch marks the start of the freestyle season,  with stunts busted on a specially designed course featuring stairs, handrails, banks, even a “vert halfpipe”, which will serve as a platform for a range of tricks performed at the greatest height that entrants can muster. This year, a mountain bike dirt jump contest will also unfold for the first time.

All the action happens at a scenic setting: the banks of Lake Zurich at the Landiwiese. Besides freestyle sport, the event will feature bars, music, film premières and a trade fair where visitors can pick up the latest products on the market. They can also have a crack at lake-water wakeboarding and take a ride on the public mini-ramp.

Proceeds go toward youth work and environmental sustainability.

“For the first time in its history, freestyle.ch will be held climate-neutral. We pay back all climate-impacting emissions produced by us (starting with your arrival, all the way to the production of snow and waste disposal),” the organizers say.
