Lytro Camera For the Extreme Photographer

The magical Lytro camera is here. Not “magical” in the sense that it’s a wonderful piece of technology, though it does happen to be that. More in the sense that we’re pretty sure the thing is made out of ACTUAL magic. The Lytro uses something called “light field technology” to capture images, allowing it to capture and separate a scene’s individual rays of light rather than a burst of it as it registers on a sensor. The result is a remarkably clear image that allows you to tweak the focus of the shot AFTER the image has been recorded. The technology isn’t new, but this camera’s relative affordability is: a Lytro can be yours for $400-500.
