Kickstarter proved long ago that it’s a great place for entrepreneurs to bring their zany iPhone stand ideas, but this is one of the coolest yet.

The Sonastand is powered by science and nothing more. It’s an iPhone stand that doubles as a sound amplifier, allowing you to set your Apple smartphone down on a surface in landscape mode and have improved audio blasted directly at you.

It’s all thanks to the aluminum stand’s design, which funnel sound from the iPhone speaker into an amplification chamber. It’s also designed to be charger-friendly.

The Kickstarter is fully-funded, so becoming a backer for $39 is the equivalent of placing a pre-order for this planned June release.
