Slow And Steady Wins The Olympics
Most of the time in a race, you win by finishing first. Finishing legally, however, is just as important as being the first person to cross the finish the line. For this swimmer in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, that turned out to be the only criteria.
After both his opponents were DQ’d, Eric Moussambani from Equatorial Guinea managed to be the only guy to finish the race. Despite doing it at a snail’s pace, with the announcers wondering whether he’d even finish at all, the swimmer took the win when he touched the wall at the end.
Whatever works, Mr. Moussambani.
