Extra Points For Post-Play
Sometimes, it’s not about the play — it’s what comes after.
In a Hawaiian football game, which, let’s face it, is the best kind of football game, the Waipahu quarterback-receiver pair converts a lovely arcing touchdown pass. After hauling it in, the Waipahu WR, his momentum unstoppable, goes hurtling through an enormous helmet positioned in the outfield.
Why is the helmet there? Because it’s a football game, that’s why. Why does the kid run straight through it? Because it’s there. He should get extra points.
