But one thing we’ll say, perhaps we should rethink our reliance on waxed decks and skis when it comes to hitting the snowy slopes. From the gun, it’s clear that pedal-powered studded rubber can compete.

Of course it might be tough convincing a lift operator to let you latch your bike onto a chair, T-bar or gondola. Then again, snowboarders, too, experienced similar persecution in the recent past.

It may be just a matter of time before mountain bikes are spitting up snow all over our favorite ski resorts.
