The First Ski-Thru Coffee Shop
It was inevitable, wasn’t it.
In 1930, a bank in St. Louis, Missouri became the first drive-thru business in America.
Then came the first drive-thru for food — either an In-n-Out in Baldwin Park, California or a Maid-Rite in Iowa in the late ’40s (history can’t seem to agree upon who came first).
Then McDonald’s took over the world and introduced drive-thru’s everywhere — leading to the infamous McDonald’s Coffee Spill lawsuit.
And now, the first ski-thru Starbucks has hit the slopes at Squaw Valley in Northern California.
Let’s hope the chairlift’s have cup holders.
