We told you about this historic session last year — a double code red day at the Billabong Pro that “terrified” even Kelly Slater. Now, thanks to world-renowned cinematographer Chris Bryan, we bring it to you in slo-mo.
Bryan recorded the footage with a Phantom high-speed camera, a space age product that can capture more than 1,000 frames-per-second in high resolution.
That’s almost enough FPS to communicate the sheer power of this Tahitian wave on August 27, 2011. Almost.
Only those in the water will ever truly know what hit them.
